I liked the first Divergent film enough. Although it’s basically a thinly veiled message of “Everyone sucks but me because I’m different,” everything was just super cheesy and bad looking enough to work. It’s better than the sum of its parts, and works for many odd reasons. That’s why I’m sort of looking forward to the sequel, Insurgent.
I don’t know what’s going on, but there’s a secret box, Tris is still different, the visual effects are still awful, and the cheese is laid on thick. The Divergent Series: Insurgent releases March 20th next year. That poster looks neat though!
