Sometimes I forget movies are being made, and then when I remember I get really excited. This is not one of those times. I forgot Dreamwork’s was taking Rock and Bullwinkle’s time traveling dog, Mr. Peabody, and his assistant, Sherman and blasting them into CGI, but I wasn’t happy to remember it with these first images.
While the style seems up to snuff and they’re clearly time traveling, I just don’t think the concept of the film is going to be very good. It was a great short cartoon, but stretching it out doesn’t seem like the best idea. I mean, does Sherman really need a love interest as these pics clearly show he’ll have? I’m not buying it, but I’ll still give it a chance when it lands March 7 of 2014.
