First look at Tom Hanks in Stephen Spielberg’s Cold War film

0

Stephen Spielberg and Tom Hanks back together? That sounds about as awesome as we can hope for. They kind of make fantastic movies together. This time they’re tackling the Cold War in a not-yet-named film that involves the rescue of a captured pilot behind enemy lines.

This isn’t Saving Private Ryan, though. Hanks is playing James Donovan, the true-life attorney working on behalf of the CIA to secretly negotiate the release of Francis Gary Powers, a U.S. pilot shot down over Soviet airspace in 1960 while piloting a U-2 spy plane. Sounds like the kind of true-to-life drama that Spielberg is so good at doing.

Whatever the movie is going to be called it will be released on October 16, 2015.
