Dark Sky Films just dropped the first trailer for Mega Time Squad, a New Zealand action/comedy that ticks all the right boxes. Maybe I’m just easy to please, but you give me some idiot crook who steals an ancient Chinese artifact from an elderly Asian stereotype and uses it to travel back in time, cloning himself each time so he can team up with himself to commit a bunch of stupid heists, then I’m a thousand percent onboard.
This also boasts off-brand Hotline Miami masks and promises some sort of demonic intervention, so actually let’s make that a million percent onboard. There’s no way this movie can be bad, and I’ll fight anyone with the common sense to say otherwise.
Honestly, the jokes seem sharp with some tight delivery, and the time travel aspect looks suitably trippy. Dark Sky also released a poster for the movie, which is giving some beautiful Miami Connection vibes. Let’s hope Mega Time Squad can live up to even half that promise.
