First official look at DiCaprio as J. Edgar Hoover

We haven’t really been paying much attention to Clint Eastwood’s upcoming J. Edgar, a film about the public and private life of J. Edgar Hoover. I’m not really sure why as it has Academy Awards written all over it thanks to the fact that Eastwood is directing it, it’s a period piece and Leonardo DiCaprio is playing Hoover. To remedy this here is the first official look at DiCaprio as Hoover.

While I can’t say he looks much like the man, that rarely matters when you’re talking about DiCaprio. Anyone who saw The Aviator knows he can nail a person’s affectations and mannerisms so well that it doesn’t really matter that he looks nothing like the person.

What I am a little disappointed about is that this isn’t an image of him crossdressing as Hoover was rumored to do that (almost completely debunked by now). That’s how you’d really draw in people to the theater on Nov. 9, when the film gets a limited release so it can hit up the aforementioned Oscars.
