First pics of WWE’s Roman Reigns as Dwayne Johnson’s brother in Fast and Furious spin-off

The first spin-off film for the Fast & Furious franchise will be in theaters this summer. Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw (or as I like to call it, Two Ampersands, Too Furious) will star Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham as Luke Hobbs and Deckard Shaw, respectively. They’ll play off their rapport from The Fate of the Furious, and probably do some jump kicks and wrestling moves for all of you dirty marks out there (like me).

We’re getting some new images if Hobbs & Shaw through Dwayne Johnson’s Instagram account, which features a new addition to the cast: Johnson’s real-life cousin and WWE superstar Roman Reigns. Reigns (real name Leati Joseph “Joe” Anoaʻi) will play one of Hobbs’ four ass-kicking brothers, and he will probably Spear and Superman Punch people into oblivion.

Reigns had to leave in-ring action in October 2018 to fight leukemia, a disease he previously beat 11 years ago. It’s great to see him in recovery, looking healthy, and doing well.

Check out some of the new Hobbs & Shaw pics below.

For some context regarding Reigns, here’s an emotional segment from Monday Night Raw in which he broke kayfabe (i.e., the fictional veil of wrestling storylines) to announce his health issues.

Prior to this evening last October, Reigns never publicly spoke about his previous battle with leukemia or any current health issues. Apart from his family and select individuals, this was never disclosed to the public.

It’s pretty incredible to consider how lukewarm-to-reviled Reigns’ character was prior to this. Yet he put in the work every week without complaint, even if he was getting booed or being crapped on by the fans. At no point did he consider discussing his health for pity or for sympathy. Wrestling fans and journalists who might not have liked Reigns prior to this moment seriously reconsidered their assessment of him as a real human being.

The booking may have been bad, and the writing behind the scenes was not very good, but this guy, Joe Anoaʻi? He’s a good man. It’s heartwarming to see him pulling through. I am legit getting misty because Irsquo;m so happy for the guy and his family.

Here’s another Hobbs & Shaw pic that Johnson posted on Instagram earlier today.

Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw is set for release on July 26th.

Keep fighting, Joe.
