21 Jump Street was easily one of the biggest surprises of the year when it released in that it was actually funny and not incredibly stupid. As the meta-as-all-hell trailer 22 Jump Street points out it’s incredible it do so well, but now we have a sequel because of it. That sequel looks, well, it looks as good as the first did in trailer form.
See that’s the problem here. 21 Jump Street in trailer form didn’t look like anything special and neither does this really. It turned out to be totally awesome so here’s hoping that this does the same thing. There’s definitely laughs to be had here, but the real charm of the first film was its spot on humor about the rise of the nerd and high school social life, so it will be interesting to see how they tackle college.
