Newcomer Jesse Zwick is making his directorial debut with About Alex, a millennial-focused, Big Chill-type reunion story that actually looks pretty good.
The film follows a group of college friends who reunite post-graduation to keep an eye on their suicidal friend, Alex. Inevitably, their weekend getaway is rife with tension and emotion as dirty laundry is aired, romances are kindled, and the gang tries to prevent a second suicide attempt.
As a girl in my mid-twenties, I have to imagine that I am the demographic that About Alex is appealing to, and I have to say it does look pretty enjoyable. And I am always down for more Aubrey Plaza in my line of vision.
About Alex opens August 8th.[Source: Slashfilm]
