BOOK OF MONSTERS - Official Red-Band Trailer - Out 3/19/19!

Dread has released the first trailer for Book of Monsters, which you might think is horror movie where the filmmakers used Mad Libs to decide what monsters to use–and you’d be kind of right.

Book of Monsters started as a Kickstarter movie, and bakers were able to vote to affect six different parts of the movie themselves, including what monsters it contained and how they killed their victims. Now, we all know that using the internet to decide things for you never goes wrong, and so there’s no reason to be suspicious of a movie that has a shape-shifter, a skull-wearing demon-thing, a cthulhu, and a garden gnome. Will it make any sense? Probably not. Will that matter? Also probably not.

It looks bloody and fun, a sort of senseless ride of practical effects, like the latest Puppet Master movie. The plot is straightforward with Sophie celebrating her 18th birthday, and someone finds a big book (full of monsters no doubt), reads from it, and hell breaks loose. Then, it’s up to Sophie and her friends to stop the evil before everyone is dead. Keep the talking to a minimum and the action to a maximum, and it all sounds good to me.

Book of Monsters will hit DVD on March 19, 2019.
