First trailer for Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy

Update: New images as well, giving us a better look at Del Toro’s return as The Collector (you may remember him from the closing credit sequence of Thor: The Dark World.)

Guardians of the Galaxy is Marvel’s riskiest, yet enticing property. It’s their most comic book-y movie by far. Sure we as an audience have grown to accept Robert Downey Jr. schmoozing it up with a green rage monster, defrosted super patriot from the 50s, and a woman, but are we truly ready for a buff Chris Pratt, green Zoe Saldana, friggin’ Batista, a motherf**king Vin Diesel tree, and a Bradley Cooper voiced raccoon? Not to mention all of the other humongous stars (Karen Gillan, Benecio Del Toro, Michael Rooker, John C. Reilly, and even Glenn Close!) joining the Marvel universe?

I sure hope so. 

The James Gunn directed Guardians of the Galaxy is next film in Marvel’s Phase Two lineup (following Iron Man 3, Thor: The Dark World, and Captain America: The Winter Soldier). Are you ready? I know I am. Guardians of the Galaxy opens August 1st.
