I’m not sure you can understate what Mr. Rogers meant for generations of children. The man was prolific not just in educating, but in understanding children and the power of the growing medium that was television. The new documentary Won’t You Be My Neighbor takes a look at this, while also most likely making you cry.

The first trailer is here, and it almost made me cry. The kindness of the man himself overflows even in these small clips. It is a touching message in a time that seems to lack them. Do we have a Mr. Rogers of today? I sure can’t think of one.

Won’t You Be My Neighbor releases this summer.
