Yakuza Apocalypse: The Great War Of The Underworld (2015) - Official Trailer

Yakuza, vampires, Takashi Miike and Yayan Ruhian from The Raid and Raid 2? You’re sold, I know, but there’s also a really weird trailer above that will sell you even more on Yakuza Apocaplyse: The Great War of the Underground. It involves a man dressed as a fuzzy frog.

I’ll admit I’m a bit behind on my Miike film watching, but damn if I don’t wish I was at Cannes to check this out when it screens as part of the Directors’ Fortnight next month.

Believe it or not, there is a plot. The film follows Akira, who finally makes it into the Yakuza only to find out it isn’t as awesome as he thought it would be. There’s some adjusting he needs to do and also a vampire. Things clearly get weird. Check out two shorter trailers below.
