First trailer for ‘The Maze Runner’ is intense

The first trailer for the film adaptation of James Dashner’s The Maze Runner has succeeded in making me curious about an upcoming film/ book trilogy that I didn’t know existed until a few hours ago. This intense trailer exposes bits and pieces of what looks to be a very cool story: A young man named Thomas (Dylan O’Brien) wakes up suddenly in a strange place with no memory of who he is. He and a band of other lost boys must navigate their way through a deadly maze that surrounds them to uncover the truth, while the sudden appearance of a mysterious girl (Kaya Scodelario) adds even more intrigue.

The maze itself looks fantastic in all its massive, daunting glory, I’ve been a fan of Scodelario since her Skins days, and the last movie I saw about a maze featured a singing David Bowie in spandex, so I have high hopes for The Maze Runner.

The Maze Runner hits theaters September 19, 2014.
