First trailer for Tim Burton’s Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children

While Tim Burton has fallen off a bit lately, his films are still worth watching for interesting stuff alone. And it looks like thanks to the strange world of Ransome Riggs’ novel, Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children we might have a film that can keep up with Burton’s eccentricities. The first trailer combines some of Burton’s past films together into a neat little package: the bright colors of Alice in Wonderland, Eva Green’s 100% commitment from Dark Shadows, and a young and plucky kid at the center of it all.

I haven’t read Riggs’ book series myself, but I can see why it’s so popular. The premise has a good hook (it’s basically a superpowered story seemingly without any of the trappings), and this trailer’s been cut pretty well.

And was that Samuel L. Jackson? Yeah I’m in it all the way now. Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children opens September 30th.
