I have a small confession to make. I’ve seen a few Madea flicks. While I don’t particularly like Tyler Perry’s side projects (like Tyler Perry Presents: Tyler Perry’s Temptation: Confessions of a Marriage Tyler Perry) the plays and films starring Madea tend to hit home a lot more. While it’s easy to mock his hamfisted moral stories, TP’s Madea is just a fun character (especially during the plays).
In Tyler Perry’s Temptation: Confessions of A Madea Christmas, Madea is paid to visit a family because of a mother that’s worried about her daughter living on a farm with Larry the Cable Guy. Shenanigans happen of course, and I’m sure there’s an audience for them. It’s hard to deny that the tagline “Ho no she didn’t!” isn’t fantastic either.
