First video clip of Pixar’s short film La Luna

Last month we were excited over just an image from La Luna being released, and now we get to share with our readers the first clip of La Luna! Enrico Casarosa was the storyboard artist for Up, Ratatouille, and Ice Age, so I can’t wait to see how he does in his directorial debut.

The story synopsis is a big tease, because while the clip looks like a timeless tale of a father taking his son to work on a fishing boat for the first time, the plot details hint that the child will be conflicted over which relative to listen to during a dramatic moment that will arise. Will he have to choose whose life to save? Will it stay innocent, or will it be deeply emotional? Check out the video above and keep reading for the synopsis spoilers.

Full plot synopsis spoilers:

La Luna is the timeless fable of a young boy who is coming of age in the most peculiar of circumstances. Tonight is the very first time his Papa and Grandpa are taking him to work. In an old wooden boat they row far out to sea, and with no land in sight, they stop and wait. A big surprise awaits the little boy as he discovers his family’s most unusual line of work. Should he follow the example of his Papa, or his Grandpa? Will he be able to find his own way in the midst of their conflicting opinions and timeworn traditions?

It will be interesting to see if it ends up being a tear-jerker!
