Countdown is an animated short by artist Celine Desrumaux and it chronicles the moments before and during a space shuttle launch. I love the colors in this short, they give off a sort of vintage charm without being too obtuse.
The other thing I love in this short is the noticeable lack of human beings. Sure, there’s some astronauts in there, but c’mon, they’re not average people, astronauts are lean mean space-dwelling machines! Speaking of machines, that’s pretty much the only other thing represented in the short. Which is kinda awesome. To me if feels almost like some ordinary process happening inside of an organism. No big deal, happens all the time.
