Flixclusive Video: Michael Bay blows up DC

You have to hand it to him, Micheal Bay knows how to draw a crowd. In D.C., the director packed the edges of Constitution Avenue near the Capitol building with hundreds, if not thousands, of bystanders hoping to catch a glimpse of movie magic. I did a bit of recon, and settled in to what was certainly the prime spot for catching the polarizing director at work.

For the record, I hate Michael Bay and everything that he stands for. I couldn't, however, skip out on some pyrotechnics and general mayhem, so I went in armed with a camera to see what was going down. After waiting for three hours, the crew finally got their acts together and set off to blow up some D.C. Bay's usual suspects were there, including cars on hydraulic boxes, SWAT team members with automatic weapons, and more emergency vehicles than you can count on your fingers and toes. The crowd was giddy with anticipation, and when Michael Bay came up to say hello, camera flashes lit up the night like a Christmas Tree.

A few yards away from where I was standing, a crewmember put up a sandwich board, with a message that I think reflects, generally, what Mr. Bay is all about. "Filming Involving Gunfire and Explosions Ahead" it stated. "Do Not Be Alarmed." This simple sign seems to capture the essence of Senor Bay, a man who holds style above substance and spectacle over script. Ladies and gentlemen, without further ado, a Flixclusive of Michael Bay's Transformers 3
