For some reason you’ll be able to watch clean versions of Sony’s movies

Sony has just announced that you’ll receive a clean version of 24 of its movies on digital service VUDU whenever you buy them. These are the same “edited for content” films that you’ll see on airplanes or broadcast TV, and they come free along with the purchase of any movie just like your other digital copies for most films.

You can read what the 24 films are below, and I suppose to complain about a free, optional version that I don’t have to watch is kind of ridiculous, but lets do it anyway. I’m just not clear on the purpose here. I guess if you’re kids are begging you to watch something that is R then it works… maybe. But for most folks they’re buying an adult movie for adults. The edited versions may not cuss, but that still doesn’t make them kid friendly. Plus, it’s not like many of the films on this list are all that bad in the first place. I mean, Ghostbusters? Really? There’s only 2 R-rated films on here.

But now you’ll have it so go to completely sanitized town if you want.
