Fox’s Frankenstein reboot now has a title and plot

Fox’s new Frankenstein film has had about as painful a life as the Frankenstein’s creature itself, but things are finally, finally on their way as we get an official title and plot synopsis. The film’s official name is Victor Frankenstein, which is a pretty bland title possibly hinting at a more realistic telling of the tale. Despite the name Director Paul McGuigan’s film, which stars James McAvoy and Daniel Radcliffe, is more about Igor than Dr. Frankenstein.

James McAvoy is Victor Von Frankenstein and Daniel Radcliffe stars as Igor in a unique, never-before-seen twist on Mary Shelley’s classic 19th century novel. Told from Igor’s perspective, we see the troubled young assistant’s dark origins, his redemptive friendship with the young medical student Victor Von Frankenstein, and become eyewitnesses to the emergence of how Frankenstein became the man—and the legend—we know today.

Definitely and interesting take on it, especially since it sounds like we may get very little actual Monster action. The film, if it is ever actually finished, is scheduled to release on October 2 of 2015.
