Frozen is highest grossing original animated film ever

I don’t think anyone would have guessed that Disney would be back on top of the animation world, knocking Pixar down, at the beginning of 2013, but it seems the animation studio finally figured out (with the help of Pixar head John Lasseter) that old magic as Frozen has become the highest grossing animated film of all time. Most likely driven by people who just can’t get “Let It Go” out of their head the movie has pulled in $346.9 million, surpassing the original champ, Finding Nemo

The movie is well on its way to breaking $1 billion globally with Japan and China opening soon, which would make it the top grossing animated film of 2013 as it surpasses Despicable Me 2. This is a big break for the studio as the film was not predicted to perform this well. Thankfully, it is amazing and completely deserves the massive box office.

If only they could figure out a way to get the damn songs out of your head.
