John DiMaggio is officially joining Hulu’s Futurama revival

Futurama

It’s been a rough few weeks for fans of Futurama. After Hulu announced intentions of reviving the show a few weeks back, many were puzzled by the exclusion of actor John DiMaggio from the cast listing. Known for portraying Bender, the loveable robot that would probably end up stealing your money before saying he loves you, DiMaggio revealed that his reason for not signing onto Hulu’s reboot was down to money. “I don’t think that only I deserve to be paid more. I think the entire cast does,” is what he wrote on Twitter.

Well, thankfully, the producers of Futurama have come to their senses. As reported by Variety, DiMaggio is now officially signed on to reprise his role in the upcoming revival for the streaming service. “I’M BACK, BABY!” said DiMaggio in a statement. “So damn grateful for the love and support of fans and colleagues alike during this whole time (especially my wife, Kate), and I cannot wait to get back to work with my Futurama family.”

Series creator Matt Groening was also happy to have DiMaggio back. “From the moment John DiMaggio auditioned last century, we knew we had our Bender,” he said. “So congrats to everyone at Futurama. We’re all back, baby!” With his inclusion, that means the entire original cast will be returning, making this revival much more legitimate than it was before.

We still don’t have any news of when the 20-episode run will be airing on Hulu, but we’ll be sure to keep you posted with any updates on developments for this.
