Both Will Ferrell and Kevin Hart can be really funny guys, but the second I heard about Get Hard I figured I’d be driving the other way. It looked like a dumb film playing on all the wrong racial stereotypes just pull laughs. Not clever, just “you know what black people do.”
However, this trailer made me laugh, and I kind of hate myself for it. Maybe its just the strength of the comedians, but there’s some genuinely funny stuff in her. Now whether the full film can hold together is a different question. I’ve got major doubts, but at least we’ve got a descent trailer out of it.
Get Hard opens on March 27th.
