Ghostbusters 3 traps new writer without crossing the beams

Ready for some confirmations out of nowhere? Paul Feig is actually going to direct the third Ghostbusters film and they’ve hired Katie Dippold to help him write the script. In case the name is unfamiliar Dippold wrote The Heat (with Feig) and has worked on Parks and Rec. She’s definitely has comic chops even if the The Heat wasn’t a classic.

It also helps to firm up that this third film will be a female centered reboot that only features the original character tangentially. That’s fine by me. As much as I love the old Goldbusters all the actors are definitely old now and without Bill Murray returning and the sad loss of Harold Ramis focusing on a new team is the way to go.
