By Godzilla made the money and was also not too bad so we weren’t surprised when a sequel was announced. It looks like it will be a while until we get to see it, however. WB and Legendary have set June 8, 2018, as the release date.
This is most likely thanks to director Gareth Edwards being kind of busy with that little Star Wars thing (called it). That’ll take some time and then he’ll jump into Godzilla again right away. Evidently the man does not mind working on blockbusters.
This should give them plenty of time to work on the design for those new monsters.
