Godzilla remake gets director Gareth “Monsters guy” Edwards!

As some of you know, I’m something of a horror fan. Some of you might know me as a huge fan of Godzilla and any sort of rubber monster fighting Kaiju subgenre of film, which is why I’m particularly bummed that the Godzilla franchise hasn’t had a new entry in years. Toho made a statement that they were “retiring” Godzilla for ten years after the release of 2005’s Final Wars. But that doesn’t mean an English remake, a second remake lest we forget the 1998 Rolland Emmerich Godzilla, isn’t going to happen. In fact, it might be sooner than later!

Aparantly, the new rumor going around is that the gentleman who directed “[i]Monsters[i],” a low budget, literally making the films special effects himself on a mac book, is something to be excited about. Assuming that this deal goes through, this could mean that Godzilla’s franchise doesn’t have to wait another five years, and will be getting a proper western developed franchise.

Assuming he does the right thing and has Godzilla fighting other monsters with as little of the people talking as possible, I am so excited for
