Goosebumps 2 trailer hits to reawaken more childhood nightmares

Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween Trailer

Being totally honest here, the first Goosebumps movies was more fun than it had any right to be. I’m not sure that I’d go as far as to say it was truly good, but I actually thought they did something interesting with it. Now the trailer with the sequel is landing and I’m actually excited because instead of sticking with the Jack Black character they’re treating the books as the characters and moving in a sort of children’s horror anthology direction. That’s awesome.

Aside from that, it’s clear they’ll be bringing back a lot of the same creatures from the original, and Slappy and some gummy bears. It’s all weirdly just a little too scary, kind of like the books originally were. Maybe that’s what makes it work.

Goosebumps 2 will release in theaters nationwide on October 12, 2018.
