Harry Potter & Deathly Hallows Part 1

When I told people that I was going to the movie with my girlfriend on opening day for Harry Potter 7 Part 1 (now known as Part 1) they told me I was crazy and that the place would be packed. Nothing could have been further from the truth. We went to the 11am showing at Danvers and the theater was half full.

The movie starts off with Bill Nighy explaining that the Ministry will not fall that it will essentially fight the good fight against You Know Who. Really, do I need to recap the whole sequence of events. You know it all. Right. You know this happens and then this happens and it does so mostly the way it does in the book. Wish they had shown the funeral of Dumbledore or more of the ministers conversation with the PM but hey if I wanted that I should have directed it. But, anyone who has read the sequence of events in the books like myself, it still had me guessing and hoping for a different turn of events. I jumped at parts, yes jumped more than I can say of more recent horror films. The best part of the movie though was the tone at the beginning. After all that. I loved it. I was enthralled for the 2 hours and 20 minutes. I was entertained. There was enough humor (watch for Hermione's looks she give Ron and Fred or is George's antics) to offset the darkness. I can not wait till July to see Part Two. Even the animation for the story of the Three Brothers was amazing.

SPOILER**************************************************

The movie ends when You Know Who takes the Elder Wand from Dumbledore's grave
