Everything is looking up for DCEU fans. After news of Justice League getting its Snyder Cut and Suicide Squad possibly getting an Ayer Cut, it appears as if former Superman star Henry Cavill will be returning to the role. In a report from Deadline, the publication has heard that Cavill is now in talks to reprise his role in a future DC film.
This claim was even backed up by Comicbook a few hours earlier. While far from an official announcement or confirmation, this does bode well for the star. I don’t know if I’d call him a good actor, but even great ones can give bad performances under the wrong directors. It’s very possible that Synder just wasn’t able to get much out of him. The Witcher is proof enough that Cavill can at least act.
As for when Superman will re-emerge, no one is exactly certain. Warner Bros. isn’t currently developing a new film and is more focusing on side projects for the DCEU. We’ll probably see a surprise Cavill appearance in Shazam 2 or maybe Aquaman 2. For now, though, fans can cling to the hope of things being better.
