Horror film OLD 37 getting cast, will begin shooting

We never reported on the announcement of psychological horror film Old 37, but a press release has been issued based on a post over at Fangoria with some new information. Although the premise is pretty creepy (two brothers pretend to be paramedics and then blood or murder happens), I have never heard of any of the people involved, and some of the actors’ previous works leave something to be desired (“notable” credits include the TV show Hannah Montana as well as High School Musical 3). For now, I will file this away as “Do not care,” but maybe it’ll be good. Regardless, filming is beginning in the fall, so we will probably see a release some time in 2012. Hit the jump for the full press release.

Psychological Horror “OLD 37” Begins Shooting This Fall

NY, NY June 27, 2011 – Big Picture Media has begun pre-production for OLD 37, a psychological slasher about two brothers posing as paramedics, who intercept 911 calls in a retired old ambulance. Fast paced and blood soaked, OLD 37 taps into the most basic human fear: vulnerability. The words “don’t worry, I’m a paramedic” will make you think twice before dialing 9-1-1.

The chaos begins filming this Fall in Long Island, New York, directed and edited by two-time Emmy winning editor, Christian Winters. First time writer/producer Paul Travers will produce his script with partners Carrie Alton and Evan Greenhill. The film will be executive produced by Steven Beer and co-produced by Josh Newman of Cyan Pictures, who will also distribute the film. Although casting is still underway, the film has secured horror heavyweight Kane Hodder as one of the killers and as the stunt coordinator, as well as some solid young actors, including Brandi Cyrus, (Hannah Montana, Zoey 101) Max Ehrich (High School Musical 3, The Pregnancy Pact) and Dalal Bruchmann (Into The Darkness).  The movie’s soundtrack will be composed by talented music producer Darius Holbert (Hobo with a Shotgun, Cedar Rapids).
