By There was a time when I saw the Happy Madison logo before a film and didn’t fear for my comedic life. That time is long, long gone. Instead of smartly stupid comedies that you could quote for days that logo now represents almost everything that is wrong with comedy in film these days. Adam Sandler, what happened to you, man?
Above you can see just more proof of what I’m talking about from the international trailer of Jack and Jill, which makes it looks even worse than the domestic one we saw a little while ago. Can you spot a single part of this movie that you think will actually be funny? Even Al Pacino looks like a terrible cameo. I couldn’t even laugh at the “only one Oscar” joke.
I’m not sure what the world is coming to, but it ain’t good, folks.
