Interpolated rotoscope animation about Mark Zuckerberg

This week’s déjà vu comes from Hayden 5 Media and comic book publisher Bluewater Productions, who are teaming up to create an animated short about Mark Zuckerberg’s fascinating life story that will be based on the comic Mark Zuckerberg: Creator of Facebook.

Despite Facebook being one of the five most popular websites on the Internet, and The Social Network making well over $100 million in theaters, the president of Hayden 5 Media feels that this is a “great opportunity to re-tell the story of Mark Zuckerburg [sic] post Social Network in a brighter, animated form that could be enjoyed and understood by a broader audience.”

The fact that they plan to use interpolated rotoscoping in Mark Zuckerberg and the Found to make it look similar to A Scanner Darkly is enough to get me interested, though it feels like us fans of that and Waking Life are in the minority. You can read the entire press release here, where they’re apparently so excited about the project that they hastily misspelled Mark’s name several times.
