By If you’re not looking forward to The Master, Paul Thomas Anderson’s next film, I probably don’t want to be friends with you. The long-delayed film, loosely based on L. Ron Hubbard’s creation of Scientology starring Philip Seymour Hoffman, has had release dates bandied about for some time now, and the latest rumor places the film in theaters this October, with possibly even an appearance at the Cannes Film Festival.
I recently had a chance to read the script to this movie, and if Philip Seymour Hoffman and co-star Joaquin Phoenix can pull off some stellar performances, which should be expected of both of them, this could be an amazing movie, on par with There Will Be Blood, P.T. Anderson’s previous film.
