Yesterday morning we received news that Dino De Laurentiis had passed away at the age of 91, and our servers must have heard because they locked up and prevented us from posting for most of the day while they wept in the corner. We let the servers have a good cry while we sorted things out, but even though we’re back to our normal schedule now, we’re still sad to move on in a world without Dino De Laurentiis.

Thankfully, we’ll always have his movies to remember, and there sure are a lot of them. He finished his first movie at the age of 20, and since then he impressively completed over 500 film projects in America and Italy. There’s not enough room to list all of his awards or highlights, such as Army of Darkness, Conan the Barbarian, Death Wish, Dune, Flash Gordon, and King Kong, but I urge you to scroll through the rest.

We’ll have to honor him by adding his 1954 Academy Award winning film La Strada to our review to-do list.
