Jason Vorhees does a bunch of fatalities in this trailer for Friday the 13th: The Game

The Friday the 13th series has always been a reliable franchise for gorehounds. The movies are full of gruesome death scenes, and each Jason Vorhees murder often amounted to a form of slapstick sadism. My favorite might be the sleeping bag scene from Friday the 13th Part VII: The New Blood.

Fresh from PAX West comes this official trailer for Friday the 13th: The Game from Gun Media and IllFonic. Bonus: it’s done in the style of a gory 80 music video.

Give the game trailer a watch below.

All of the kills were designed by legendary makeup and special effects artist Tom Savini, who’s best known for his work on Friday the 13th parts I and IV, Dawn of the Dead, Day of the Dead, and the original Maniac. Friday franchise veteran Kane Hodder, who played Jason in four of the films, did the motion capture for the video game.

If the gore wasn’t enough for you, here’s some gameplay footage from June of this year, which reveals the hide-and-seek nature of the game. (Or stalk-and-slay, if you prefer.)
