Jeff Daniels joins Looper

A couple days ago, I brought you fine people an update on Looper, writer/director Rian Johnson’s follow-up to The Brothers Bloom and Brick (please watch those movies). Now, FirstShowing reports that Jeff Daniels is joining the already stacked cast. Daniels will be joining Joseph Gordon-Levit (their first movie together since The Lookout), Bruce Willis (from
The Kid
), Paul Dano (that dude who gets beaten by a bowling pin in that one movie), Emily Blunt, Chinese actress Xu Qing, Piper Perabo, and Noah Segan (Dode, from Brick). There’s also the news that Primer director Shane Carruth is joining the crew. It hasn’t been revealed what role Carruth is taking on, but I’m sure we’ll find out in due time.

I didn’t even know half of those people were joining the cast. Looper has an indie all-star cast, and can only get better at this point. If you’re even remotely interested in good movies, Rian’s movies are some of the best around. Brick is responsible for me going to film school, actually. What I’m trying to say, is that you can expect more updates from me about Looper. So suck it up.
