Jennifer Love-Hewitt directorial debut sounds inappropriate

Jennifer Love-Hewitt is famous for two things and if you don’t know what they are, you’ve obviously never seen a film starring Jennifer Love-Hewitt. Her latest bid to revive a dwindling career – her last production as an actress was The Client List, which tackled the shame of prostitution and the even greater ignominy of starring in a Lifetime TV movie – is to step behind the camera for her motion picture directorial debut.

On paper this sounds like a canny move, since she has done some directing for her TV show Ghost Whisperer and no straight man has ever seen her face anyway, but in an hilarious turn of events, the project she’s chosen to escape her somewhat lascivious reputation is entitled Wait Till Helen Comes.

No, seriously.

No, seriously.{{page_break}}

Following her experience helming Ghost Whisperer episodes, she's sticking to what she knows (stop sniggering at the back) with another tale of the supernatural. While the saucy title might suggest something similar to that brilliantly bonkers episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation where Beverley Crusher is shagging that ghost who lives in a candle, Helen is actually an adaptation of a novel by Mary Downing Hahn about three young girls who move into a haunted house and form a tempestuous relationship with a tormented spirit. Rumours that the porn version will be shot simultaneously have yet to be confirmed.
