In another case of fan casting potentially becoming true, Molly’s Game star Jessica Chastain is in talks to star in the sequel to last year’s horror hit, IT. As you’d probably guess, Chastain is up for the role of adult Beverly, who was portrayed in the first film by Sophia Lillis.
Moviegoers have been predicting actresses such as Chastain, or even Amy Adams (Lillis played the younger version of Adams in HBO miniseries Sharp Objects). Ultimately, the studio eyeing Chastain makes the most sense, with Chastain starring in another film by ITdirector Andy Muschietti, Mama.
Muschietti will be back to direct the second part of IT, which will be based on the portions of Stephen King’s novel that focus on the Loser’s Club as adults. IT: Chapter Two is set for release on Sept. 6, 2019.
