Jim Sturgess and Kirsten Dunst have an Upside Down love

Plenty of images surfaced today from the upcoming sci-fi romance Upside Down, starring Kirsten Dunst and Jim Sturgess, and directed by Juan Solanas. According to Collider, the film is about a man who falls in love with a woman he saw on TV in his childhood. His infatuation for her grows, but she lives in another universe that’s inverted and has its own rules of gravity.

This is one of those fantastical conceits that is so strange yet full of potential. Love, distance, relationships, memories, and the skewed rules of physics. It’s like something that could have come out of Charlie Kaufman or even Italo Calvino. Hopefully the film itself lives up to the metaphoric possibilities I’m juggling in my head right now. If anything, the images in the gallery look promising.

And of course, there’s a scene where people are dancing on the ceiling. I now use this as an excuse to post semi-related videos after the cut.
