John Boyega is up for more Star Wars, just not on Disney+

The Skywalker saga may be coming to an end with The Rise of Skywalker, but star John Boyega seems up for more Star Wars. In some recent interviews in promotion of the new film, the actor indicated that he’d be willing to return to the series should the opportunity arise, but with one caveat: it won’t be on Disney+.

Despite how popular streaming services have been, Boyega doesn’t want his character relegated to the small screen. Speaking with Variety, Boyega stated, “I ain’t getting no Disney Plus! I’m watching it, though, but I’ll stay in the feature films.” Following that statement, he said he’d like for his co-stars Daisy Ridley and Oscar Isaac to be involved.

Sadly, the two of them aren’t as ready to return to the franchise. Isaac, specifically, told Variety, “[I’m] happy and feeling fulfilled that the task is complete. So I can’t imagine what it would be that would make me want to redo this thing or revisit it.” He did echo Boyega’s desire to not end up on Disney+, though.

Ridley doesn’t believe anything will top The Rise of Skywalker. “I think it’s just a great story and a great close,” she said, “and even though obviously the characters continue to exist, it would have to be so extraordinary [to return], and I don’t know if that’s possible.” She didn’t express any thoughts on Disney+, but her words state that she’s ready to move on.

It’ll be interesting to see where Star Wars goes after this month’s final chapter. With the Skywalker story finished, there’s a chance we’ll finally get stories that expand the mythos of this universe instead of focusing solely on one family.
