Johnny Depp will be in Wes Anderson’s next film

Wes Anderson’s next movie is The Grand Budapest Hotel, a European story that draws on Anderson’s own experiences in France. Not only does the film reteam Wes Anderson and Owen Wilson, it brings a new face into Anderson’s stable of actors: Johnny Depp. Anderson arm-wrestled Tim Burton and challenged Gore Verbinski to a game of riddles (in a steel cage) for the actor.

No word on what role Depp will be playing in the film, but Anderson is actively pursuing several other big names to star, including Bill Murray, former Flixist editor-in-chief Jeff Goldblum, Jude Law, Adrien Brody, Edward Norton, Willem Dafoe, and Angela Lansbury (or as the GZA calls her, Angela Murder-She-Wrote, Bedknobs-and-Broomsticks-ass Lansbury).

Personally, I wouldn’t mind Seymour Cassel and Kumar Pallana popping up in The Grand Budapest Hotel.
