Jojo Rabbit’s latest trailer shows a lighter side of Hitler

Taika Waititi’s absurd dark comedy Jojo Rabbit has gotten another trailer and it shows a lighter side of Hitler. I can’t actually follow that statement up with anything that won’t offend someone, so I’ll just say that I appreciate the tone here. While Hitler was the biggest mistake of the 20th century, there’s always room to laugh at dark things and take the edge off. Sometimes shocking things are funny because they are shocking.

I haven’t been following the news very closely on Jojo Rabbit, but I do know people are buzzing for its eventual release. It does look to be quite the film, combining Waititi’s signature comedy flair with some heavy material. I’m sure there’s a whole point to an imaginary Hitler helping a boy out, but we’ll just have to wait for October 18 to find out.
