Joseph Gordon-Levitt cast in Sin City: A Dame To Kill For

Joseph Gordon-Levitt has quickly risen to be one of Hollywood’s best and brightest. He continues to score roles in huge films and his performance never disappoints. It’s good to hear, then, that he has officially joined the cast of Robert Rodriguez’s and Frank Miller’s Sin City: A Dame To Kill For, the long coming sequel that will continue to adapt Miller’s famous series of graphic novels. He’s character will apparently be “a cocky gambler who disguises a darker mission to destroy his most foul enemy at his best game.” Sounds like a winner to me. It’s also worth noting that JGL is the first actor that will be taking on the role of a character that wasn’t featured in the original Sin City, and that much of the original cast will be returning, with the exception of Devon Aoki and the recently departed Michael Clarke Duncan.

Of course, since this is good news I’m going to have to bring everyone back down to earth with something a little more on the disappointing side. It looks like those talks about JGL starring in Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy have been officially nixed, so go ahead and put that one to bed.

As exciting as it would have been to see him as a full fledged superhero, I feel like this role in Sin City is more up his alley. Then again, at this point I’d watch him regardless of what film he’s in.
