Kevin Smith’s holiday horror Anti-Klaus is happening

News coming out of Cannes is decidedly not the high end art film you’d expect: Kevin Smith’s Anit-Klaus has gotten the go ahead with XYZ films shopping it around the festival for foreign distribution. The Christmas horror film is about Krampus, a European myth about an evil monster that takes away the naughty children in his empty sack. The image above is a rendering of what Krampus will look like in the film.

Smith will be reuniting for this movie with basically the entire cast of his upcoming film Tusk, another horror film. That means more Justin Long, Haley Joel Osment, Genesis Rodriguez and Michael Parks. More excitingly that SFX genius Robert Kurtzman will be working on the film. Of course, we weren’t really fans of Smith’s previous attempt at horror, Red State, so I’m not sure I’m that excited about this, but at least the concept sounds fun.
