Kickstart the Princess Mononoke stage adaptation

0

Back in September we reported on a stage adaptation of Hayao Miyazaki’s Princess Mononoke, which is being put on by the Whole Hog Theatre in London. Tickets for their April 2013 shows have already sold out, but Whole Hog is turning to Kickstarter to help stage additional shows. Since Whole Hog is not-for-profit, all funds will go directly to the production. Funding perks include postcards, posters, tickets to future performances, and a chance to hang out with the cast and crew.

In the Kickstarter video above, you can see some preliminary tests with the puppetry for Princess Mononoke, as well as design work and some early choreography. Whole Hog Theatre also sent along a new photo from their production — similar to a previous image, but with more dramatic lighting.
