King Kong beating the life out of Godzilla will have to wait until late 2020

Who doesn’t love watching giant monsters beat the life out of each other? Thanks to the dozens of Godzilla movies produced over the years, we have a healthy supply of movies where a walking Atom Bomb metaphor fights giant moths and turtles. That’s cool, but you know what’s really cool? Giant monkeys. Who doesn’t love monkeys? I’d rather play with a monkey than a lizard any day of the week, so of course I’m of the opinion that King Kong would destroy Godzilla in a fight any day of the week.

Unfortunately we’re going to have to wait a little bit longer until we can see the climactic monster showdown that we’ve been promised in Legendary’s MonsterVerse franchise. Godzilla vs. Kong was originally slated to release March 13, 2020, but the film was delayed over eight months to November 20, 2020. No reason was given for the delay at this time. As it stands, the movie will open in the same month as *checks notebook of upcoming releases* The Eternals and Clifford the Big Red Dog.

Wait, there’s going to be a Clifford the Big Red Dog movie? Screw giant monkeys vs giant lizards, get a giant dog in that fight! I would gladly pay money to watch a giant dog rip King Kong and Godzilla to shreds!

Godzilla vs. Kong will release November 20, 2020.
