By In case you’ve forgotten, Legendary has been inching closer and closer to bringing us another King Kong vs. Godzilla…or at least I hope that’s what’s going to happen. After the success of Godzilla, King Kong is next in line. Formerly titled Skull Island, Kong: Skull Island (because everything needs to be specific because movies) is a prequel/reboot starring the giant ape in his island home.
Jordan Vogt-Roberts is set to direct, Tom Hiddleston is set to star, and we’ve got a plot description:
KONG: SKULL ISLAND will fully immerse audiences in the mysterious and dangerous home of the king of the apes as a team of explorers ventures deep inside the treacherous, primordial island. Legendary’s story honors the foundations of existing King Kong lore, but places it in an entirely new, distinct timeline.
Kong: Skull Island has now been bumped from 2016, and is now set to release March 10, 2017.
