King of Kong update: Chien retakes Donkey Kong record

0

Though the end of 2007’s King Of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters had underdog Steve Wiebe as the record holder in Donkey Kong, there’s been a constant shift of hands as far as the record go. Back in August, hot sauce connoisseur Billy Mitchell just took back the record from relative newcomer Hank Chien and then underdog Steve Wiebe* took it from Mitchell. Today, Hank Chien officially holds the Donkey Kong record yet again with a score of 1,068,000, besting Steve Wiebe’s score of 1,064,500 and Billy Mitchell’s score of 1,062,800.

There’s been a whole lot of drama in the Donkey Kong world ever since King of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters came into our lives, so much so that perhaps a sequel is in order. For those that still thought that the record stayed with Steve Wiebe, allow me to catch you up to speed after the jump.

OK, so at first in the movie Billy Mitchell was all like “I’m the king of kong!” and then Steve Wiebe was all like “Not if I have anything to do with it!”. Then, Wiebe took the high score but then Mitchell was all “Nuh uh, it wasn’t done on an official arcade machine!” and challenged Wiebe to do it on a Twin Galaxies officiated event. Wiebe then was like “BRING IT” and went to Florida and beat the score (again), but just as he beat it Billy Mitchell revealed a super conspicuous video of him beating the score and was all like “U JELLY?”. Wiebe was all like “RAGE” and almost gave up on getting the high score until the films conclusion in which he beat it in his own home. Shortly after the film, Mitchell was all like “HOTSAUCE!” and took back the record, and Wiebe has struggled since to achieve the high score. Then, a new challenger approached and was all like “Hi, my name is Mark Chien. I’ve come to take your record” and then he took his record! Billy Mitchell was like “Who the heck are you, loser?” and beat Chien’s record, quitting his game just as he beat it. Mitchell was all like "Lulz, I don't even have to try", but then Wiebe came out of nowhere and was all like "GUESS WHO'S BACK?!" and reclaimed the record from Mitchell. But as of now Chien is all like “Got it again … DEAL WITH IT” and Mitchell is all like “UGHH, I should’ve kept playing!”

Get it? Got It? Good.
