Although currently focused on the Matt Damon-led The Last Duel, Ridley Scott has announced his subsequent project will depict the scandalous Gucci fashion family, with a starring role going to Lady Gaga.
Specifically, the Gucci film (still untitled at this time) will focus star Gaga as Patricia Reggiani, the ex-wife of Maurizio Gucci. Four years after their divorce in 1991, Gucci was gunned down in Milan, Italy. Reggiani was later convicted and sentenced for orchestrating the hit.
From a script by Roberto Bentivegna based on The House of Gucci, the book by Sara Gay Forden, Scott will co-produce with Giannina Scott, his wife and frequent collaborator as an actress on his films.
The Gucci film will mark Lady Gaga’s first role since her role in 2018’s A Star Is Born, where she was nominated for her performance and won Original Song.
Though The Last Duel is yet to wrap, Scott’s Gucci film is expected to hit production immediately after his current project.
