Latest trailer for Eden is a celebration of music and club culture

While you may not know Mia Hansen-Løve yet, her husband, and dare I say muse, Olivier Assayas is certainly more recognisable. As a fan of them both, it is easy to see how they inspire the best in each other, and with Eden, it seems Hansen-Løve may finally get the recognition she deserves.

Eden has been doing the rounds on different festivals since September, 2014, and the reception has been mostly very positive – it currently holds a 94% on RottenTomatoes. It’s been described as a heartfelt celebration of DJ-electronics, from the pulsing 1990s club-culture in France, to the musical production. The trailer below showcases this with a visual flourish, and albeit I don’t like the first music choice, it looks beautiful for anyone who can relate to losing oneself to dance.

The movie stars relative unknowns such as, Félix de Givry, Vincent Lacoste (as Thomas Bangalter of Daft Punk fame) and many others without photos on IMDB – because that’s how I measure fame. It also stars indie-darlings, Greta Gerwig and Brady Corbet, and we all know especially Corbet is too perfect to ignore.

Eden is set for a limited release in June, just in time for the music festival season.
